What is a Chiropractic adjustment?

The doctor uses a carefully directed and controlled pressure in a precise direction to an area of your nervous system, to allow the body to return to a balanced state.

How long will it take to get well?

Healing takes time and differs from person to person. Once you have had an initial evaluation, your chiropractor will have a very good idea and will outline it all to you before you begin care. The initial stabilisation phase can take anywhere from 4 weeks to 6 months depending on the individual.

I have heard that once you start going to a chiropractor, you have to go for the rest of your life.

It is easy to understand that one visit is not going to correct subluxations that have been in your nervous system for many years. Most people require frequent visits to begin with, to change the abnormal neurological patterns that are causing their declining health. Just like if you were learning to do a cartwheel, you would need to practice frequently until you have mastered it. Once people have stabilised their nervous system, many choose to continue care on a regular basis to continue to improve and aim for optimal potential, or to maintain their current level of health. Just like you brush your teeth every day, you eat well and you exercise; visiting your chiropractor is part of a healthy lifestyle. How long you want to benefit for is always up to you.

I have asthma, can Chiropractic help me?

Chiropractors never claim to treat or heal any particular disease or illness. Whether someone has back pain or asthma, they get their entire nervous system assessed. In regards to asthma, the lungs and airways are controlled by the Nervous System. When the Nervous System is balanced and organised, the lungs work most effectively and efficiently. When there are imbalanced and disorganised areas in our nervous system, it can compromise the function of any and every cell in our body, including the respiratory system. By locating and correcting areas on Nervous System interference, the body can self heal and regulate at its optimum. Many practice members find that breathing becomes easier and asthma symptoms subside. There are many research papers on asthma and chiropractic.

How long does it take to see changes in the nervous system?

Some people feel changes immediately, while others notice improvements over weeks as the brain adapts. Neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to change happens through repetition and consistent input. Your care plan is designed to match your brain’s healing pace.

What conditions do brain‑based chiropractors help with?

We commonly help people with headaches, migraines, all sorts of pain issues, posture issues, chronic tension, dizziness, stress‑related symptoms, anxiety, longterm chronic health issues, concussion and movement problems. Our focus is on improving nervous system function so your body can heal and perform at its best.

Do you work with children or neurodiverse individuals?

Yes. Brain‑based chiropractic is gentle and highly adaptable. Many parents bring children for posture, coordination, sensory processing, focus, and general wellbeing. Techniques are tailored to each child’s neurological needs.

What does “brain‑based chiropractic” mean?

Brain‑based chiropractic focuses on improving how your brain and nervous system communicate with your body. Instead of only treating pain, we assess posture, movement patterns, balance, and neurological function to identify how your brain is processing information. Adjustments and neuro‑rehab exercises help restore clearer, more efficient brain‑body communication.

Do you treat children?

Yes. Chiropractic care for children uses extremely gentle techniques suitable for their age and development. Parents bring their children for development delays, autism and ADHD, posture, movement, sleep, and general wellbeing.

Can chiropractic help with posture?

Absolutely. Poor posture often comes from restricted joints, muscle imbalance, and altered nerve input. Chiropractic care helps restore proper alignment and movement, making it easier to maintain healthy posture.

How is an adjustment given?

Many different ways. It may be a quick movement or slow constant pressure, sometimes only one area may be adjusted and sometimes many areas will receive attention. The most commonly used adjusting method at Vibrant Life Chiropractic is the arthostim instrument.

How much will it cost?

This varies from individual to individual, the layers of damage the client has and the lifestyle choices they are making. The cost of care will be outlined for your individual needs before you start care. Please see our fees page for care plans and family discounts.

Do all Chiropractors ‘Crunch' your spine?

The ‘crunch' that most people are referring to is gas being released from joints. It is part of many chiropractic techniques and is very safe when done by a registered chiropractor. At Vibrant Life Chiropractic we do not use this style of adjustment. We use the latest technology in Chiropractic called the Arthrostim Instrument. The Arthrostim creates a rapid impulse that your chiropractor will use to correct your subluxation. It is very gentle and does not hurt. There is not any popping or crunching. We find that we can be more accurate and specific using the Arthrostim and our practice members enjoy it.

How long is a regular chiropractic visit?

FAQ: A regular visit should take no longer than 15 minutes, chiropractic sessions are intentionally short because the goal is precision, not duration. A chiropractic adjustment is a specific neurological input designed to improve how your brain and nervous system process information. This effect happens in milliseconds, so sessions don’t need to be long to be effective. Chiropractors deliver a highly specific, controlled stimulus to improve brain‑body communication. This requires skill and accuracy — not long appointment times. Chiropractic adjustments create the neurological window for change. Your body does the healing afterwards.

Can brain‑based chiropractic help with dizziness or balance issues?

Yes. Balance is controlled by the brain, inner ear, and proprioceptive system. If these systems aren’t communicating well, dizziness or unsteadiness can occur. We assess these pathways and use specific adjustments and exercises to improve stability.

How is brain‑based chiropractic different from traditional chiropractic?

Traditional chiropractic focuses mainly on joint alignment and pain relief. Brain‑based chiropractic goes deeper by assessing how your brain controls movement, posture, balance, and stress responses. We use neurological testing, sensory input, and specific adjustments to improve overall brain function — not just reduce symptoms.

What happens on my first chiropractic visit?

Your first visit includes a full consultation, neurological and postural assessment, and a clear explanation of what’s happening in your body. We have a unique brain and nervous system assessment we use called the Neuroinfiniti Stress Response Evaluation. This helps us understand the root cause of your health problems and devise a care plan specific to you. If appropriate, you can receive your first chiropractic adjustment on the same day.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Yes. Chiropractic care is a safe, non‑invasive approach focused on improving brain and nervous system function. Techniques are tailored to your age, comfort level, and health history.
